The aim of the Project is the adaptation of textbooks for curricular subjects of the A’ and B’ Primary school grades, fully accessible for students with:

– Visual Impairment

– Hearing Impairment

– Physical (motor) disability

– Mild mental disability

– Autism

– Attention deficit disorder (ADD)

Working Groups of Experts will set the Standards for Material Development concerning scientific and pedagogical documentation, for each type of disability and special education need, as well as the evaluation principles for textbooks and software.

Within this context, a platform for “digital content accessibility” for students with disabilities will be developed, integrating all education material that will be produced. Relevant educational material that has been previously developed will also be archived. Special software for the adaption of textbooks to “fully accessible” format as well as for the design and development of appropriate teaching material will be acquired.

Upon completion of the “Production and Development” phase, the “Teacher Training” phase will follow. It is anticipated that over 1,500 teachers will be trained to use the new material provided by the Project.

The Project will be managed by experts who have the adequate experience and knowledge in this field and they will ensure that all aspects of the Project are in line with the approved scientific and administrative principles.
